welcome to my blog!

My name is Angel More and I am 16 years old. I'm climbing mountains, biking, swimming open water, and doing triathlons to raise awareness for Children International. Children International is an organization that supports children in poverty and I want to raise money to $1 million for Children International’s HOPE scholarship fund—to support 5,000 teens around the world who want to further their education in high school, college, or technical school, so they can escape the cycle of poverty. Follow my blog for updates about my adventures and fundraising.

let's end poverty for children worldwide!

I turned 13 last month and attend 8th grade. My goal is to swim the English Channel after I turn 16. I am raising $100,000 to help children in poverty via the organization “Children International” and over 38% there.

Yesterday, I swam the Alcatraz 28th time in a year and a half. I have swum Golden Gate Bridge to Bay Bridge three times, the Golden Gate Bridge tower couple of times. I swam in rivers, lakes, and oceans, I also climbed Kilimanjaro, attempted Aconcagua and did several triathlons, bike rides metric and imperial centuries.

Please see my fundraising site https://www.crowdrise.com/youthpower
I will continue to raise funds for this charity. Please help if you can!!

Angel and 20 other long distance swimmers had the first annual USA Champion of Champions Swim event yesterday which was based on similar events in UK, Australia and Ireland. The event began at 8am in the San Francisco aquatic park and the route was a big circle. The first swim was 5 miles. The second swim was at 12:30 for 3 miles and final was at 3pm for 1 mile. Swimmers had a choice of doing all or some swims at a distance of their choice. Angel did 2, 3 and 1 miles totaling 6 miles. She was recovering from flu and cold so she did not do the full five miles at the start but warmed up later in the day.
