welcome to my blog!

My name is Angel More and I am 16 years old. I'm climbing mountains, biking, swimming open water, and doing triathlons to raise awareness for Children International. Children International is an organization that supports children in poverty and I want to raise money to $1 million for Children International’s HOPE scholarship fund—to support 5,000 teens around the world who want to further their education in high school, college, or technical school, so they can escape the cycle of poverty. Follow my blog for updates about my adventures and fundraising.

let's end poverty for children worldwide!

Written by my mom because I am too tired:
Angel did it at 13!! Angel completed her newest adventure, her longest open water swim, Wharf to Wharf to Wharf, from Capitola to Santa Cruz to Capitola. Angel is the youngest in the world to do this 20.16km, officially documented, unassisted, open-water marathon swim. It took her 8hr and 19 mins. Water temp was 57f. She was accompanied by jellyfish, dolphins and a giant humpback whale!! :) The Monterey Bay Swimming Association was the official organization that observed and sanctioned this swim. Alongside Angel was a sailboat and a kayak for feeding Angel every half hour during the entire duration. Angel's swim had a crew of 3, that made this logistically complex swim happen! Thank you so much to:
Lisa Amorao: Swim coordinator who also kayaked besides her half way
Scott Tapley: Swim observer and himself an accomplished marathon swimmer
Brian Thom : Captain of the Nomad boat

Congratulations, Angel, you rock!!

Yesterday, Angel completed her 40th Alcatraz swim. I had an amazing view of 700+ swimmers in the bay. There were three Alcatraz events simultaneously held and Angel went with WaterWorld's 'Swim with the Centurions' swim.
Later that afternoon, she participated in the 3 miles cross country meet for the first time (Lowell Invitational).
Today, Angel did the RCP Tiburon mile swim which is listed as number 91 in the World's Top 100 Open Water Swims. She got a little disoriented in the swim and took much longer to finish.
