Angel did the USA Triathlon Southwest Region this morning. It was unfortunate that she misinterpreted the event time in the new teamsnap iPhone app her team is using.
While reaching the event site, she realized that the event was starting in 4 minutes and we were mile away! She scrambled and ran with her bike to the transition area bike racks and started the swim part of the triathlon right away. We worried if they would let her participate. But she was allowed to start, she was delayed by 5 minutes, and she finished it. She added 10 minutes to her fastest time and took the 5th place in her age group.
After the event, we drove her to Sunnyvale from Pleasanton where Angel participated in swim meet events, one of which was a 800 yard swim. She needs its official timing for placement in the long swim she is planning to do in Europe.
Angel also did her 38th Alcatraz swim Saturday. All in all, a very busy weekend indeed!

Angel participated in the Monroe Tri (near Seattle) Saturday. It was a challenging event to attend. She was returning from Puerto Rico school trip and her flight was delayed by 11 hours, which necessitated rebooking her Seattle flight and her not being present for the USAT official meeting at 5PM Friday. The officials made an exception for her and allowed her to participate. ​

Graduated middle school, now off to high school...

​Angel is a doer. She scales mountains, swims, bikes and runs in competitions around the world and she brings that same competitive nature to her studies. She is also kneely aware of the inequalities in our world and is already making a contribution to rectify them. Present her with a problem and she'll work until a solution is found. - by SCCLC school.
